Its not often that I include as many formals in a post as I’ve done in this one but it was one of those occasions where we laughed the whole way though and so I simply felt that I had to share some of those moments. Kerry has a wonderful bond with her family and laughter clearly abounds with them and as an old friend of Grant’s only meeting her for the first time its obvious that this is one of her many endearing qualities that this self proclaimed GroomZilla fell for – and fall he sure has. Despite giving himself the title whilst being very involved in the make up of their gorgeous day, wanting only perfection for his new bride, he is hands down one of the funniest guys I know – and you can always be guaranteed a laugh or 3 in his company!
Kerry & Grant (AKA Lucky – and he really was the lucky one on this occasion) tied the knot at Hotel Izulu in Ballito, the absolutely gorgeous venue that was once home to SA’s legendary Miss World, Penny Rey Coelen. Ballito much to my surprise is no longer the sleepy little coastal getaway I remember from my teens, its grown into a bustling Coastal haven and is a firm weekend favorite of theirs being an easily do-able drive from their home in Joburg. True to form of Natal’s North Coast, the weather was superb – so much so that the bridal party chose to sneak off to the welcomed respite of their nearby air-conditioned room for a ‘cold one’ whilst waiting their turn during the shoot….
Kerry & Lucky we all wish you a lifetime of happiness and so look forward to watching your beautiful story write itself in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.

Hotel Izulu was the setting and Ronine did a brilliant job of making sure all ran like clockwork. We got to enjoy the luxury of the Royal Suit which allowed ample space for us all – not to mention wow, what a pleasure!
Ros Faber – worked her magic on the ladies with her ‘professional touch’ whilst Michelle Reeve of The Perfect Plan spun her’s in and around the venue below.
Their chosen Officiate was Fiona Briggs from Hatches Matches & Dispatches (Gotta love the name!!)
and last but not least DJ Dave Yapp – the most involved and superbly organized DJ I’ve ever had the privileged of working along side – although with Lucky’s affinity for all things music why am I’m not surprised.
Oh and if you are ever on the lookout for wonderful accommodation in the area, I stayed @ Al Marrakesh – what it lacks in an ocean view the place itself and the super staff certainly make up for in charm!
And on a final note – to my super special sister, thank you for being such a great support – what a treat to see you! xxx
