Other than the unbelievable privilege of being invited in to share one of the more special moments in a couples life, I take away with me the reminder, without fail, every time, why I fell in love with my own husband, why I love being married to him and how absurdly lucky I am to have my soulmate by my side….. With the hustle and bustle of our busy lives these reminders are always welcome and I adore the feeling when that rush washes over me.
The moment that did this for me during Marjon & Jose’s intimate service (which by the way was just the way I like it – barefoot & on the beach), was a very Spanish Jose’s brave attempt at saying his vows in English! Just beautiful.
Marjon is from the Netherlands and has been based in SA with the Dutch Embassy for a couple of years now, however she’s about to transfer to Prague. They both love Cape Town and in some way it reminded them of Jose’s beloved Venezuela – where they met and fell in love 8 years ago, so they felt it only fitting that they tie the knot here, on the opposite side of the ocean before heading off on their next adventure.
They jetted in for the weekend and Dion, myself & their lovely hosts from The Cape Rose Cottage in Camps Bay were lucky enough to be a part of the magic moment.
We wish you everything of the best and look forward to your return visit once your stint in Prague is done!
